How Often Should Your Child Have Eye Exams?

Children need several eye exams as they grow to help ensure their eyes develop regularly. We complete a thorough assessment during your child’s eye exam based on their current stage of development.

According to the American Optometric Association, your child should have eye exams on the following schedule:

Their first exam between 6–12 months old
At least one exam between 3–5 years old
Annual exams from ages 6–18
